A Teacher, a Mentor, a Leader: A Birthday Tribute to Dr. Sunanda S. Aswale

Celebrating 30 October | Honouring a Life Dedicated to Education, Research, and Mentorship

Prof. Kunal G. Wankar: Some teachers do far more than teach a subject. They inspire dreams, build confidence, and shape futures. Dr. Sunanda S. Aswale madam is one such educator, whose dedication, discipline, and supportive nature have left a lasting mark on many students and colleagues.

On her birthday, it is a privilege to express my heartfelt gratitude and admiration for a teacher who has played a meaningful role in my academic and professional journey. My association with Dr. Aswale madam began as her student and continued as her colleague in the Department of Chemistry at Lokmanya Tilak Mahavidyalaya, Wani, so I have experienced her guidance in both roles.

One of her most admirable qualities is her willingness to support students in pursuing research and building academic careers. She understands that professional journeys are not always smooth, and that a teacher's encouragement can make a real difference in difficult times. Her guidance has been especially valuable to me, and I know many others have benefited too.

Her career reflects determination and a steadfast pursuit of academic excellence, rising from Assistant Professor through Associate Professor and Professor to Principal. Her SET qualification, along with her work in teaching, research, and academic development, shows how she keeps strengthening her own knowledge while contributing to the academic community.

As a teacher, she is dedicated and disciplined; as a mentor, supportive and encouraging; as a leader, she motivates colleagues and younger faculty to pursue their goals. Her strict approach to academic responsibilities, balanced by her readiness to help others, reflects her belief that excellence requires both commitment and perseverance.

Today, as Principal of Gramgeeta Mahavidyalaya, Chimur, she continues to lead and serve. Her journey from the classroom to institutional leadership shows that committed educators can influence not just individual students but the wider academic environment.

On this special day, I offer my sincere thanks for her guidance, encouragement, and support. I feel fortunate to have known her first as my teacher and later as a colleague.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Sunanda S. Aswale Madam!

May the coming years bring you good health, happiness, and every success, and may your dedication continue to illuminate the paths of countless students and inspire the academic community.
